The General Data Protection Regulation came into force a year ago, 25th May 2018. So, it’s good opportunity to look back and assess where the European institutions stand today. The GDPR can be challenging but it is also an opportunity to seize. FEDMA is currently updating its previously approved Code of Conduct to the GDPR. The proposal of the ePrivacy Regulation is on everybody’s mind. Parliament and Council have different approaches to this proposal and with the European elections just around the corner, the timeline of this proposal may be impacted. Finally, the evolution of European consumer law should not be overlooked.
